Away From Home For The Holidays – How To Thank Our Troops

December 2, 2008 Persuasion 2

Holiday time.  Music playing, lights twinkling, people coming and going, in peace and freedom.  Maybe you’ve got a little vacation time or time off.  Maybe you get to play with the kids. Might even check some of your around-the-house to do items off the list.  Decorate a tree, polish a candle holder, plan get togethers with loved ones, family and friends.  Buy gifts, or make them.  Eat out at a favorite restaurant.  Eat in, with all the comforts of home and hearth.

For so many of our men and women in uniform, that’s not what this holiday brings.  Away from home, away from their loved ones, their lives in harm’s way, holidays can be lonely and sad for members of our armed forces.   You can do something to help.  You can bring a little holiday cheer to our troops by saying thank you for their service.  It won’t take but a moment, yet it could make all the difference.

Simply go to, and, thanks to Xerox, you’ll be able to quickly send a free printed postcard to U.S. military personnel serving overseas.  It’s an easy yet important way to show your support and appreciation for the sacrifice they make on all of our behalf.   Please take the time to do this.  They deserve it.  And it will do you good.

Happy Holidays,

That was seriously simple and I was surprised!

I expected a “friction” somewhere in the process but it was amazingly friction-free.

Happy Holidays and thanks for sharing the link.

  2. Thanks J.D., glad you did it! It’s such a simple thing to do, yet I’m sure it makes a big difference.
